Energy efficiency in your community: innovative financing tools

Presentation of RenoWatt+: based on the experience of the GRE Liège-RenoWatt pilot project, the three inter-municipal agencies for Economic Development, IDEA, IDETA and IGRETEC have decided to join forces in order to implement an extensive programme for energy renovation of public buildings. The main goal of this project is to reduce energy consumption by at least 30% by implementing Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs).

Two ESCO (energy service company) will give their feedback on the development opportunities given by this new type of contracts in Wallonia.

The questions of financing energy renovations for the public sector and the investment impact on public debt will be addressed during the event. In addition, the Brussels Initiative "Infinite Solutions" will be presented. This innovative financing mechanism (revolving fund) is an inspiring and potentially replicable project for Walloon entities.

Présentation de RenoWatt+, basés sur l'expérience du projet pilote mené actuellement par le GRE Liège – RenoWatt, les trois intercommunales hennuyères de développement économique, IDEA, IDETA et IGRETEC ont décidé d'allier leurs forces afin d'implémenter un vaste programme de rénovation énergétique de bâtiments publics. L’objectif de ce projet est de réduire la consummation d’énergie de minimum 30% grâce à la mise en oeuvre de Contrat de Performance Energétique (CPE).

Deux ESCOs (société de service énergétique) donneront leur feedback quant aux opportunités de développement offert par ce nouveau type de contrat en Wallonie.

Les questions de financement de la rénovation énergétique pour le secteur public et de l'impact sur la dette publique seront donc développées lors de cette conférence. De plus, l'initiative bruxelloise " Infinite solutions " sera présentée. Ce mécanisme de financement innovant (fond revolvant) constitue un projet inspirant et potentiellement réplicable au niveau des entités wallonnes.
