The training is open to representatives of cities signatory to the Covenant of Mayors initiative and currently working on a development project. The deadline to register your interest in attending this free training is 17 October.</p> <p>The Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy initiative brings together thousands of local and regional authorities voluntarily committed to implementing the EU’s climate and energy objectives on their territory.</p> <p>In the framework of this initiative, a two-day training for local authorities interested in seeking financing for sustainable local development projects is being organised. All selected participants will be required to present a project their city is currently working on. This highly interactive training will focus on the specific challenges local authorities face while developing their projects and seek external financing. The ultimate goal of the training is to equip participants with the right skills to develop successful projects, in order to enable them to successfully secure the financing they seek. The projects brought to the table should ideally be in a ‘mature’ phase of development, accompanied by all relevant data available.</p> <p>This training is particularly recommended for cities currently applying for EU funding programmes which encourage the mobilisation of additional financing sources as part of their project (Horizon 2020 smart cities call, Horizon 2020 nature-based solution, LIFE programme, etc.), but other interested cities are also welcome to apply. The training is provisionally scheduled to take place in Brussels on 28-29 November. The Covenant of Mayors will reimburse part of the cost for eligible participants, up to €400 per participating city.</p> <p>Interested cities should complete an application form, provided to you via sending an e-mail to Anja De Cunto (<u><a href="mailto:anja.decunto@eurocities.eu">anja.decunto@eurocities.eu</a></u>). The application form should be send by Monday 17 October. Ten participating cities will be selected based on the quality of their submitted proposals.</p> </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-tags field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Tags:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/tags/training" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">training</a></div></div></div> Mon, 03 Oct 2016 17:17:18 +0000 Elise Steyaert 573 at http://citynvest.eu http://citynvest.eu/content/covenant-mayors-free-training-financing-open-call-expression-interest#comments
