Financing Energy Efficiency in the Baltic States

Date:
Friday, 11 November, 2016 (All day)

In the framework of the new initiative Sustainable Energy Investment Forums, The European Commission is organizing a public conference on Financing Energy Efficiency in the Baltic States, in partnership with the Latvian government, on 11 November 2016 in Riga (Latvia) from 9.00 to 15.30. You can register to this event via the following link (by 4 November at latest): https://goo.gl/forms/BzWQAyUX4jWj2NQq1

The event aims to share best practices from the region on how energy efficiency can be financed through private funds and innovative financing instruments, notably in the building and industry sectors. Speakers will focus on practical experiences in developing and structuring investment programmes, which will then be discussed with the different stakeholders.

The event will gather stakeholders from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia representing national policy makers, private sector financiers, energy services providers, local decision makers and project developers.

More specifically the event will address:

  •         The European and national policies in place for energy efficiency finance
  •         The use of the European Structural Funds in the form of loans or guarantees
  •         The potential for energy performance contracting and the financing of ESCO's (energy service companies)
  •         Best practices in leveraging private bank finance on energy efficiency

Please note that the conference will be conducted in English.

The attendance to the event is free of charge for all attendees. Note that attendees will have to cover travel and accommodation costs themselves.

In case registrations are above the room capacity, participants will be selected to allow a balanced representation of stakeholders.
