A special session at the first General Assembly Meeting of Association of Rhodope Municipalities was devoted to presenting CITYnvest concept and activities, and to attract the attention of the local authorities of the region towards the positive experience of GRE-Liege and the benefits for their energy efficiency targets achievement. Mrs. Pandelieva from Sofia Energy Centre delivered the presentation of the context of CITYnvest project, the experience of GRE-Liege and the proposed concept of one-stop-shop for Rhodope Region as foreseen in the draft Action Plan.
The meeting was attended by authorized delegates (Mayors and/or Members of Municipal Council) of 9 municipalities of the region. The overall attitude was positive and the initiative was regarded as beneficial and necessary provided that the above legal issues are cleared. Additionally Mrs. Pandelieva had a one-to-one meeting with the Deputy Mayor of Smolyan Municipality who was very positive towards the initiative and promised their support after respective consultations with the Mayor.
